For both Clients and Tutors
No, the registration process is free of charge.
Yes, EdustarAsia charges a 50% commission after the second week of tuition, and the remaining 50% will be paid directly to the tutor after the first month of tutoring. The client can transfer the first month's 50% of tutor fees to the agency's bank account through internet banking, automated teller machines (ATMs), or by sending a crossed cheque. This fee is non-negotiable, and subsequent months of tutoring will be paid directly to the tutor. If the client or tutor cancels the tuition before or exactly at the halfway point of the agreed number of lessons per month, the fees for conducted lessons must still be paid by the client, and the fees collected until then will be given to the agency.
EdustarAsia's coordinator will contact the client within 24 hours of receiving the online registration by email, SMS, or call. It usually takes less than 48 hours to shortlist a list of tutors for the client's selection.
Yes, the client can specify their preferences for their choice of tutors during registration, such as gender or subject proficiency. EdustarAsia will try its best to match the perfect tutor for the client.
Yes, the client can state their preferred timing of lessons during registration, such as weekdays or weekends, morning or night. The tuition fees will be worked out based on the frequency and duration of the lesson times.
The client can set their budget during registration, but EdustarAsia advises against scrimping on the tutor's pay, as a low price may discourage the tutor from putting in more effort during lessons. The company can offer honest advice on present market rates for tuition fees upon request.
EdustarAsia provides indicative rates for tuition fees as a reference, but the rates may vary depending on the tutor's standard and the client's decision. The client can quote their budget price during registration, and the company will try its best to find a tutor who can meet their budget.
Yes, the client can request for a change of tutor if they are not satisfied with the tutor recommended by EdustarAsia. The fees for the conducted lessons must still be paid accordingly.
When a tutor registers with EdustarAsia, they must accept the agency's terms and conditions, which include showing proof of their qualifications upon the client's request. If the tutor fails to do so, the client can reject their tuition services, and the agency can blacklist the tutor for the benefit of other parents or agencies in the future. If the client finds it awkward to ask for proof, they can inform EdustarAsia, who will be glad to inform the tutor on their behalf.
In compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act, we kindly request your explicit consent for us to contact you regarding tuition-related matters. By applying as an EdustarAsia Tutor, you have granted us permission to reach out to you via electronic mediums such as calls, SMS, and Whatsapp, among others. If you no longer wish to receive our messages or calls, please reply with "UN" to our SMS or unsubscribe by filling the de-registration form.
Kindly note that the client is considered to have accepted the terms and conditions upon commencing the first lesson.
There are no registration fees. However, upon successful assignment, the tutor will pay a 50% commission to our agency after the second week of tuition commencement and the remaining 50% to you after the first month of tutoring. The commission is based on the number of lessons conducted and is equal to half of the number of agreed lessons per month. Our administration fee is non-negotiable, and all terms and conditions must be agreed upon by the tutor upon accepting an assignment.
For instance, if the parent has agreed to a rate of $25 per hour for two hours per week, the total monthly fees would be $200. As per our policy, the tutor must transfer 50% of their first-month tuition fees, which amounts to $100, to our agency. Any subsequent changes in tuition fees or lesson frequency will be solely between the tutor and the parent.
Upon registration, your profile will be added to our database. When parents or clients approach us for tuition assignments, we will search our database for the most suitable match. By registering, you agree to share your information with other agencies registered with EdustarAsia as tuition coordinators, which increases your chances of getting assignments.
Our selection process is based on the information provided by the tutor, and finding the perfect match for both the tutor and student takes time. Immediate tutoring job offers are not guaranteed. However, as long as your information remains in our database, we will contact you as soon as a suitable assignment arises.
Tutors must possess a passion for teaching and demonstrate commitment. The level of students that a tutor can teach will depend on their academic qualifications. Tutors must also have a background in the subject they wish to teach, and we require them to upload a scanned copy of their educational certificates to our database.
No, we will contact the tutor who is the best match for the client, based on location, subjects, and other client specifications. Upon receiving an assignment offer, tutors have the option to accept or decline the offer.
Tuition fees are decided by the parent, but we will advise them on the prevailing market rates to ensure a fair rate for both the tutor and parent. Lessons will typically be held at the student's residence.
Yes, tutors may decline a job offer if they so choose. After receiving an offer, the tutor will be provided with details such as location, days, timings, frequency of lessons, subjects, and pay. Tutors should base their decision on these details and respond promptly to the coordinator.
As there is typically a greater supply of tutors than students in the tuition market, it may take some time to find a suitable assignment. However, as long as your information remains in our database, we will contact you as soon as a suitable match is found. Those with specific criteria for their students may have to wait longer for a suitable assignment.
No, as long as you have an interest in tutoring, you can register with our agency. Assignments are not confirmed until you give your consent to proceed.
